Hi, I'm Rivers Hughey. I'm excited to introduce myself to you as the official blogger for the SoMeT conference. I currently live in Baton Rouge, La. but am originally from Starkville, Miss. Being a Mississippi girl at heart, it feels wonderful to be back.
Here are the quick and easy facts about me: Mississppi State University graduate (in Public Relations); world's greatest wife (my husband will like that); Great Dane mom; wanna-be runner; so-so baker; and traveler.
As a Gen-Yer, I want information and I want it now. Social media makes this increasingly easier, as the industry is contanstly changing and evolving in order to connect people and provide information more efficiently.
This symposium will be a combination of destination
marketing organizations, hotels, resorts, attractions and any other tourism related entities sharing ideas and learning more about how social media is effecting promotion within the travel industry.I can't wait to soak up all the knowledge our team of presenters have to offer.
